The Heat Review

                           The Heat Review

In "The Heat," which has the scruffy honor of being the first female buddy-cop action comedy, Melissa McCarthy does more than risk looking foolish — she risks coming off as borderline insane, like a dissolute biker--turned--homeless person, like she's royally out of control.

Is it any wonder that she shoce scenes than not? With her naughty-angel features, and her italicized gumption that's so stylized it turns sarcasm into a blunt-witted form of sincerity, McCarthy plays Shannon Mullins, a proudly slobby lethal weapon of a Boston police detective who favors fingerless leather gloves, keeps an arsenal of firearms (including a rocket launcher) in her refrigerator, and doles out cut-to-the-quick insults the way that most of us say ''Hello!''

Nelson Mandela's alleged love child snubbed

Nelson Mandela's alleged love child snubbed

Johannesburg, June 28: A woman with a startling resemblance to ailing former President Nelson Mandela has been turned away from the hospital where the anti-apartheid leader is being treated, as she attempted to see the man she claims is her father, a media report said today.

Onica Nyembezi Mothoa, 65, claims she is Mandela's love child born in 1947 to her mother Sophie Majeni when the latter was a domestic worker.

Mothoa told The Star daily that she was previously manhandled by security staff at the gates of the Mandela ancestral home in Qunu, where he had retired to, when she tried to see him.

Nelson Mandela on life support system
94-year-old Mandela is entering his third week in the Pretoria Heart Hospital, with the Presidency saying he was still critical but stable.

Prayers continue to be held all over the country for Mandela who spent 27 years in prison before leading South Africa to its first democratic elections in 1994.

"If they are not hiding anything, why are they not giving him the opportunity to meet me," she said, adding that she had earlier indicated her willingness to undergo DNA test to prove her claim

In August 2010, the Nelson Mandela Foundation undertook to investigate Mothoa's claim, but later said they had handed the matter to the Mandela family for resolution.

In the past, a woman, Mpho Pule, also made a claim of being a love child of Mandela

Pule died in 2010, just a month after the Foundation said they were close to confirming her claim.

Mandela family spokesman Mandla Mandela did not respond to calls from the daily.

Union Govt banned Anti-Diabetes drug Pioglitazone and Painkiller  Analgin

The Union government on 26 June 2013 has banned three major medicines—the widely prescribed anti-diabetes drug pioglitazone, painkiller analgin and anti-depressant deanxit.

The decision to ban the drug was taken in wake of health risks associated with them. It was taken after strong stand by the government on suspending marketing of all drugs prohibited for sale in other countries like the US, the UK, EU and Australia.

Ill-Effects of the Drug Banned

Pioglitazone- It is widely believed that pioglitazone can cause heart failure and increases the risk of bladder cancer, analgin has been discarded the world over on grounds of patient safety.

Deanxit- This Drug is made up of harmful combination, which has been long banned even in Denmark, its country of origin.

Analgin
- It is known to cause a steep decrease in the count of white blood cells, which can lead to a potentially fatal state. The drug was thus taken off the shelves in many countries including Sweden, Japan, France, Australia, Canada and New Zealand.

Earlier in year 2010-11 Drug Controller General had banned various drugs which include painkiller Nimesulide, anti-diabetes medicine Rosiglitazone and antibiotic Gaifloxacin.

As per the Drugs and Cosmetic Rule 30-B, a drug cannot be marketed in India unless it is approved in its country of origin. The drug is banned in other countries as well as its user experienced cardiovascular effects, dizziness, fatigue, insomnia and vomiting.
