Assistanceship for M.Tech for Non - Gate Students
Teaching and Research Assistantship will be provided to the Non- Gate M.Tech
students under the scheme of Research Scholarship in all Government Engineering
Colleges.
The Assistantship shall be starting from the month of joining the institution for 1st year students (2013-14 admission) and from April 2013 onwards for II year students.
The amount of the assistantship will be Rs.6000/- per month. The guidelines (2012-13
admission) similar to the guidelines of GATE Scholarship. This scholarship is for the financial year 2013-14 only.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
All the regular students, enrolled under various M.Tech programmes in all Government Engineering Colleges are eligible for assistantship. As per the prevailing institute norms and regulations, the students are eligible for assistantship subject to the fulfillment of following conditions.
Since teaching Assistantship is granted for Non Gate Students in Colleges under TEQIP Scheme, the Assistantship is limited to the Non TEQIP institutions only.
1. The students must be Indian National only.
2. The students must be enrolled under Regular (Full- Time) M.Tech programme
only. But she/he must be non- sponsored candidate. In the event of his/her
conversion from full time to part-time, the assistantship shall be ceased to
continue forthwith without any intimation.
3. Students who are receiving assistantship from the institute or from any funding
agencies, will not be considered for this assistantship.
4. The students who are receiving assistantship will be required to devote 8-10
hours per week as teaching/ research assistant in their respective departments.
This could include tutorials, laboratory classes, development and maintenance of
laboratories, assistance in research and development activities undertaken by
faculty members, maintenance and operation of computers , development of
software and other central facilities. The HOD will certify the engagement of
each of the student for the release of the assistantship every month.
5. Scholarship will be disbursed subject to the production of satisfactory
attendance and progress report duly certified by HOD on every month.
6. The student must abide by CONDUCT RULES of the institute for the M.Tech
Programme. If any disciplinary action is taken by the institute authority against a
student, his /her assistantship shall be discontinued from the date of effect of
such order. The institute authority shall be requested to intimate such order(for
M.Tech students) to the Directorate of Technical Education.
7. The selection of candidates for scholarship is purely on the basis of merit(The
total marks obtained for the entire UG Programme).
8. Reservation of scholarship to SEBC will be as per the reservation norms in the
admission.
